A 28-year-old woman was fined £200 last Wednesday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for driving without insurance on March 20 this year.

Ancuta Bobiuc, Mahon Road, Portadown, also received six points and was ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.

The court heard that a police mobile patrol stopped the defendant and checks revealed there was no valid insurance for her.

She said she was covered under her friend’s policy and was under the impression she was covered to drive this vehicle.

“It’s a mistake. I’m very sorry,” she told police.

She had a policy in her own name now.
