A woman who ‘chanced her arm and got caught’ admitted driving without insurance when she appeared last Wednesday at Craigavon Magistrates Court.
Joanne Eldon (50), Annaghview Court, Portadown, was fined £250 for the offence which happened on February 27.
She was also given six points and ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy. A £75 fine was imposed for not having a vehicle test certificate.
The court heard that the offences came to light when police spoke to her in the Tesco car park in Meadow Lane. She had no record and no points on her licence.
The defendant, who represented herself in court, said it was a stupid mistake and she had “chanced my arm and got caught”.
