Woman fights off theft attempt

A woman in her fifties has fought off attempts to steal items from her car in Portadown.

The incident happened in Bridge Street on Saturday.

Sergeant Barbara McNally said, “A 59-year-old female parked her black Ford C-Max on Bridge Street around 10.15am on Saturday. A male opened the passenger side door and attempted to lift a bag and envelope from the seat. The female grabbed the items and shouted at the man who then closed the door. The male is described as being around 29 years old, approximately 5ft 5in tall, with short, cropped light brown hair, a goatie beard and generally scruffy in appearance. He was wearing a beige, zip up jacket and spoke with a foreign accent. He was in the company of another, slightly taller male.
