Edenderry Methodist to host Women’s World Day of Prayer

Launching World Day of Prayer in Portadown.

Launching World Day of Prayer in Portadown.

THE annual service for the inter-church organisation of the Women’s World Day of Prayer takes place this year in Edenderry Methodist Church Portadown at 8pm on Friday, March 1.

Rev Cheryl Meban is the speaker at this year’s Portadown service. She is currently the Presbyterian chaplain at the Belfast Campus of the University of Ulster. Having spent some years in France working with a Christian organisation for students she is well placed to speak on this year’s theme Welcoming the Stranger.

The service itself has been prepared by Christian women from France and the service will inform those attending about the life and culture of that large European country as well as giving key pointers for prayer into the life of the

Christian church in that nation.

The organisers invite anyone interested to attend this worthwhile event as women from more than a dozen churches in Portadown join with Christian women all round the world in this prayer service.
