MID-ULSTER INTERMEDIATE LEAGUE SECTION B LURGAN TWN 1 MARKETHILL SWIFTS 2
TWO goals in quick succession by Nicky Finlay helped Markethill Swifts record victory from Saturday's trip to take on Lurgan Town.

Finlay found the net with a well-earned brace as the Swifts produced an impressive away-day display.

Michael Wilson and Johnny Black came close to breaking the deadlock.

Steven Hartley's return following a trip to Australia helped increase the threat from set-piece situations, with Simon Andrews just missing out on a goal as a result.

However, the Swifts had to work hard to protect the clean sheet over the closing moments of the first half.

Finlay's header from another fine Hartley delivery placed the Swifts in control and slick passing led to a second goal soon after when the scorer doubled his tally with a penalty kick.

Sammy Gaston's return from long-term injury marked another positive, along with a welcome appearance for John Neill.

Lurgan Town managed to reduce the deficit despite Gabby McIlveen's fine initial stop and even hit the post before the final

whistle.
