TANDRAGEE'S John McKinney picked up a prize at the premier event for trials enthusiasts.
Four drivers from the Northern Ireland Sporting Trials Car Club featured within the 46-strong field in England.

McKinney finished as winner of the Gold Star at the Hinton Park in Somerset thanks to support from his brother, Peter, as they guided
a car to top spot despite operating with fixed-axle transmission, now considered by many as old technology.

Andrew McKinney, who is based in Lisburn, finished first in the Silver Star section with help from Trevor Aston.

Donaghadee's Brian Edgar was named 'Best NI Competitor' and Tandragee's David Webster completed the local contingent.

Round nine of the Northern Ireland Championship - held at Shane's Hill in Ballynure - featured Tandragee's Peter McKinney in top spot.

McKinney won class A over Mervyn McKinney, another Tandragee driver.

Andrew McKinney and Tandragee's Tommy Reid were first and second respectively in class B.

In class C, Holywood's Peter Frost edged out Ballynure's Geoff McKay for top spot.

Thanks go to clerk-of-the-course, Harold McNeill and his team for marking out the hills in difficult conditions.
