THE St Andrew's Qualifying competition was played in difficult conditions at Loughgall on Saturday, a fact reflected in the scoring.
The winner - with an excellent score of 40 points off his 12 handicap - was Neil Walker. He scored 17 on his outward nine and a great 23 on his way back in, finally entering the winner’s enclosure.
Runner-up was Graham Moore who, playing off 21,
scored 39 points, this despite having managed only 14 on his front nine. A massive 25 points for his back nine made all the difference, however.
The gross prize went to 6-handicapper, Keith Johnston, who scored a 4-over par 76. He was out in 4 over 41, but home in level par 35.
The 0-9 section qualifier was past-captain John Allen (9) who returned a score of 38 points - 18 and 20 for his respective nines.
The 13-18 section winner was Brian Teague with a score of 37 points off his 17 handicap - 18 on his opening nine and 19 on the remainder.
