PORTADOWN'S Colin Turkington will open the British Touring Car Championship season with an appearance at Brands Hatch on Sunday.
Turkington - the Independents’ Championship title-holder - recently impressed during testing at the circuit and is relishing a third season on the books of Team RAC.

“Testing has gone well and I think it’s fair to say we are much further down the road than this time last year,” he said. “There are plenty of reasons for fans to be optimistic and I share those same thoughts.

“It’s my second year in the BMW 320si so, hopefully, I can put that experience to good use.”

The British Touring Car Championship was formed in 1958 and features 10 meetings across nine venues.
