MARSHALL CUP (ROUND TWO) DARKLEY UNITED 1 BOURNEVIEW YM 2
BOURNEVIEW YM may occupy a spot in the top tier of the Mid-Ulster League but had to endure a nervous finale during Saturday’s cup clash with Division Four-based Darkley United.

United, a fresh fixture this season on the Mid-Ulster programme, reduced the two-goal deficit over the closing stages and only a battling display helped protect Bourneview’s slender advantage.

Andrew Topley capitalised on a defensive mix-up to break the deadlock after 10 minutes.

Sights of goal proved few and far between until John Gallacher knocked home Bourneview’s second.

Bourneview appeared on course for a comfortable passage into the third round until United scored.

However, Robbie Anderson’s players managed to secure success - and with it a first win of the campaign.

BOURNEVIEW YM: Andrew Neill, Gareth McAdam, Mark Neill, Tom Hayes, Graeme Steenson, John Gallacher, Ryan Matchett, Kyle Matchett, Nathan Martin, Neil Shepherd, Andrew Topley. Subs: Richard Proctor, Colin Heatrick.
