THE DEADLINE for nominations in this year’s Hughes Insurance Sports Volunteer Awards has been set as April 1.

Laurelvale Cricket Club’s Tom Irwin finished as a winner last year in the competition open to volunteers from within the sporting world.

Each regional winner will collect a trophy, £200 cash prize and £500 club reward, with the 12 area representatives then in line for national recognition and greater honours.
