Brian Archer celebrated a first season as manager of The Ambassadors reserves by steering the club to O’Hara Cup glory.

Aaron Lavery broke the deadlock at Seagoe’s Tarsan Lane against Moneyslane towards the 4-1 victory.

Second-half goals arrived from Michael Irwin, Alex Richardson and Iain Irwin.

“It is a great boost for the whole club but especially Brian as manager and his players,” said The Ambassadors’ Keith Calvin. “It shows the depth at the club.”

Saturday’s Mid-Ulster Intermediate League Section B programme featured a 5-3 success for Markethill Swifts at home to Oxford Sunnyside.

Neil Shaw scored two - with Neil Bradshaw, Josh Finlay and Steven Hartley also on target.

Richhill’s season finished in a 1-0 reverse to Moneyslane - with Neil Rowntree’s first full season at the Villagers resulting in a third-place finish.

Neil McCartney, captain Neil Lester, Johnny Allen and Richard Morrison proved the leading players.

St Mary’s lost out to Camlough Rovers on Friday in Mid-Ulster Intermediate League Section A by 4-3.

The Saints reserves’ Mid-Ulster League Cup final was scheduled for last night (Thursday) at Tandragee Rovers’ Madden Road from 6.45 against Valley Rangers Swifts.
