JUNIOR CUP (FOURTH ROUND)
ST MATTHEW’S 2 ST MARY’S 0

ST MARY’S lack of composure in front of goal proved costly in Saturday’s Junior Cup clash.

The Saints lost out by 2-0 to Belfast-based St Matthew’s on an afternoon of contrasting success in the final third.

Luke Carville rushed one early effort and Mark Reynolds struggled to test the St Matthew’s goalkeeper from a promising position during initial attacks by the visitors.

Sean Brady hit the crossbar, Shea Tennyson cleared the target and St Mary’s had a penalty shout turned down.

However, one successful appeal provided the Saints with a spot-kick – which was fired wide of the mark.
