Cup tickets now on sale

PORTADOWN fans can pick up terrace tickets this weekend ahead of Monday’s Setanta Sports Cup trip to Drogheda United.

Fans can purchase tickets from Bill Emerson – the Portadown club secretary – at Shamrock Park after 10 o’clock tomorrow (Saturday) morning.

The cost has been set at £9 and £6 concession but supporters are notified that an extra charge in euros will be required to gain access to the Drogheda stand on Monday.

“We will have 100 adult tickets and 50 concession available from Saturday morning,” said Emerson. “Previous figures would indicate around that tally for a Setanta Sports Cup away game, which is a wonderful reflection on the travelling support.

“To put it into context, we have never had 100 away fans in Shamrock Park for any Setanta Sports Cup tie, going back to its debut season in 2005.

“In contrast, we regularly travel with around 100 fans on board and even a past trip to Cork featured 70 or 80.

“Our fanbase is a credit to the club and, given the close proximity to Portadown, we expect decent numbers in Drogheda.

“However, we must remind fans that the tickets will provide access to terracing alone and an extra charge, only in euros, will be required on the night for the stand.

“I would also like to confirm to our supporters that Shamrock Park season tickets will not be valid for Saturday’s Irish Cup game against Ards.

“Admission at the home turnstiles will be £10 and £7 concession.”
