Matt Foster stepped off the sidelines and scored the winning goal for Portadown BBOB in derby success against Rectory Rangers.

Foster found the net off Adam Hobson’s pass during the 3-2 thriller.

Rangers took the lead thanks to Willie Duke but Hobson was rewarded for his determined play with an equaliser.

John Graham’s near-post header off a Jordan Brown corner-kick put the Old Boys on top before Rangers hit back courtesy of Graeme Bunting.

However, Foster had the final say.

Rangers started with outfield player Joel McConnell between the posts before a switch with substitute Jamie Reavie allowed the former to influence Rectory’s attacking play.

Late pressure failed to alter the outcome.

The visitors were left frustrated by a number of decisions from the match officials, with both sides having a goal disallowed.
