PORTADOWN have established a Travel Club ahead of the forthcoming season to help protect the away support.
Club officials can now guarantee transport to EVERY fixture, irrespective of the competition or date, as a way of repaying the loyalty displayed over the years by the Ports’ traditionally-strong fanbase.
“In light of the present difficulties encountered by Supporters’ Clubs in financing arrangements to away games, we wish to propose an alternative option,” said a club spokesman. “Shamrock Reds, Richhill Reds and Eden Reds aim to continue operating as normal but we want to try and ease the burden on other groups, plus offer individual fans another option in light of fuel prices.
“In such difficult economic times, it is vital to ensure valuable resources are not wasted and that we explore all avenues which contribute to the well-being of the club.”
At least one bus will operate to every away fixture, with collection points and times confirmed in relation to each destination.
Fans can join the Travel Club for an annual membership fee of £5 to guarantee a seat on each bus, enjoy discounted rates and priority for all-ticket fixtures including cup semi-finals and finals.
Rates would be as follows (prices for non-Travel Club members in brackets): adults £7 (£8), OAPs £5 (£6); children £3 (£4), family ticket for one adult and one child £8 (£10).
