Hanover home with full points thanks to substitutes

Hanover had a significant helping hand from the substitutes' bench to see off Coalisland Athletic and secure safe passage into the Marshall Cup semi-finals.

William Kerr and Simon Foster joined play off the sidelines with the home test in the balance at 1-1.

However, Kerr’s measured pass was controlled and converted by Foster with what proved the final talking point of the tie.

Coalisland worked hard to disrupt Hanover’s normal play and the Brownstown Park visitors conceded the opening goal.

A penalty kick marked a boost for the away side but Hanover regrouped to get back on track thanks to Chris Elliot’s spot-kick joy after a foul on Justin Bradley.
