Loughgall’s planned pre-season friendly against Linfield has been put in doubt by travel issues.

The Belfast club lost out to Spartak Trnava in Slovakia last night (Thursday) and Loughgall joint manager Steven Hawe has confirmed the return home may place the proposed weekend match in doubt.

“I got a phone call to say Linfield had some travel issues,” said Hawe. “Therefore, I am expecting a phone call on Friday to confirm if the game can still go ahead on Saturday.

“We had a good workout against Dungannon Swifts in Thursday’s Ivan Marshall Memorial Cup final so will have to wait and see how everything develops for the Linfield game.”

The match against Linfield in Lakeview Park is scheduled to kick-off on Saturday at 3 o’clock.

Loughgall lost to Dungannon Swifts by 6-0. The Loughgall squad included Wesley Boyle and Steven Ferguson - plus former Glenavon captain Brendan Shannon as a guest. Nicky Hudson and Stuart Mallon, both previously with Crusaders, were also on trial with Loughgall.
