Loughgall off to face the league leaders
VICTORY this weekend would present Loughgall with a maximum haul of IFA Championship 1 points for a fifth successive fixture - however, they must defeat runaway leaders, Ballinamallard United, to achieve the goal.
Colin Malone’s side have four wins and a draw from the previous five league outings, with an unbeaten recorded stretching back to the previous meeting between the two teams in December.
Ballinamallard left Lakeview Park on December 3 with three points and four goals following a 4-1 success.
Loughgall’s hosts this weekend hold a 15-point lead at the top of the table but the main concern for Malone’s men will be the chasing pack keen to dislodge the Villagers from second.
Ards, Newry City and Bangor sit just behind Loughgall in the race for that top-flight play-off position.
With Alain Emerson suspended and Mark Teggart having recently departed for Australia, Malone must reshuffle his panel for the road trip.
LAKEVIEW Park will provide the venue for the Marshall Shield semi-final on Tuesday, March 20.
The Ambassadors from Portadown will take on Bessbrook United, with kick-off at 7.30.
The prize is a final against Armagh Rovers on Easter Tuesday at a venue to be decided.
IN the latest MUFL Reserve Championship fixture, Loughgall United defeated Banbridge Rangers by 6-0.
