Loughgall Youth under 17s’ National League meeting with Ballymoney resulted in a 4-3 success.

Jamie McAtamney capped positive early Loughgall Youth play with a long-range strike then Stevie Monaghan doubled the lead thanks to a close-range header.

It was 2-1 at the break and Ballymoney levelled in the second half as Loughgall Youth suffered due to squandered sights of goal.

However, a late burst resulted in Loughgall Youth moving back on top thanks to McAtamney’s second goal before an Owen Byrne finish.

Another Ballymoney goal arrived but Loughgall Youth worked hard to protect the lead.

Loughgall Youth Academy training sessions will run at Annagh United’s Tandragee Road pitch each Monday from 6.30-8 o’clock. Sessions are open to boys (born 2010-2005) and girls (born 2009-2006), with anyone interested to contact Ernie on 07853233401.

GIRLS

A programme of girls’ football for the under 11s and under 13s will kick off tonight (Friday) at the Drumgor 3G pitch.

Play will run from 7-9 o’clock as part of a programme of multi-sport activities under the guidance of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council’s sport development team.

Seven-a-side fixtures have been confirmed for Drumgor each Friday until May 2016.

The under 11s will play from 7-8 o’clock and under 13s up to 9 o’clock, with two games per side.

Other attractions include cage football, an inflatable pitch and multi-sports area.
