Winter weather could lead to pitch problems.

Mid-Ulster Football League officials have issued a reminder to all clubs regarding the procedure for postponed fixtures.

A statement released by the Mid-Ulster Football League’s management committee warned clubs of the protocol during the winter season.

“Now that the winter is here and some pitches are being affected by adverse weather, all home teams are reminded to contact their opposition as soon as possible whenever a pitch is declared unplayable by either a local authority or an inspecting referee,” confirmed league officials in a website post. “This is a simple courtesy expected amongst all MUFL clubs and will avoid any unnecessary travel/expense and loss of time.”

Clubs must also inform Mark Thornbury (referee appointments’ secretary, 07742841416) and Paul Suckling (honorary secretary, 07747852893).
