PORTADOWN fans based around the globe now just need an internet connection to purchase items from the club shop.
The latest innovative move by club officials has resulted in an online store – with the first orders having already been placed.
“We went live as such last week and sold the first few bits on Friday, with additional calls over the weekend,” said Portadown’s Frank Van Der Luit. “It is about broadening the scope of the club and helping provide the parent club with a financial boost.
“Our prices are very good and the club shop at Shamrock Park has been a real positive this season.
“Bill Emerson, the commercial secretary, has compared our figures from the shop this season to those posted in the early 1990s.
“People have been popping in on matchdays and picking up the odd random item but some individuals have also made big orders up to £500 or £600.
“We appreciate every piece of support as every penny of the proceeds will go straight back into helping the parent club.
“Now our fans across the world can order items with a simple click of the mouse.
“We operate via Paypal so everything is secure and safe.”
