Ten busloads of supporters headed to The Oval on Saturday from the four fans’ groups.

Many also made the trip by car to cheer the Ports to victory against Ballymena United - with the Ports section in fine voice and flags flying high.

Banners declared support from - among others - ‘Shamrock Reds’, ‘Stranocum Ports’ and ‘Canterbury Ports’.

Former Portadown player Dave Rogers took to Twitter to wish the club every success from his home in India and supporters based in Australia, Scotland and England also took time out to send messages of good luck.

The evening kick-off presented Mid-Ulster Football League clubs the chance to complete fixtures then head off to Belfast for kick-off - with Bourneview Mill, Laurelvale, Portadown BBOB, Rectory Rangers, Seagoe and Tandragee Rovers just some of the sides represented in the Portadown end.
