Portadown staged a showcase of the club’s cup final kit last night (Thursday) at Shamrock Park.
A special supporters’ evening to launch replica tops has been planned for the next few weeks.
“Following consultation with players, rather than introduce a completely new design of shirt for the final the team has decided they wish to stick with this year’s home shirt,” said a Portadown spokesman. “The shirt will be slightly modified to reflect the special occasion.
“It will be embroidered with the Irish Cup final date and name of both teams in gold thread.
“Replicas will be available to order, plus a special one-off tee-shirt at a cost of less than £20.”
The following supporters’ clubs will be operating transport tomorrow (Saturday) to Portadown’s Danske Bank Premiership game against Warrenpoint Town:
EDEN REDS: The bus will leave Gary’s Bar at 1.45, with a members’ meeting planned from 1.15.
RICHHILL REDS: The bus will leave the village square at 1.45, with a lift in Armagh at 1.30.
SHAMROCK REDS: The bus will leave West Street at 1.30 and Shamrock Park at 1.45.
OFFICIAL TRAVEL CLUB: The bus will leave Shamrock Park at 1.30 and JD Tipler’s at 1.45.
Richhill Reds Supporters’ Club officials would welcome backing tomorrow (Saturday) for A Night At The Races in the village’s Ye Olde House Bar. The fun will start at 8.30 - with food, music and drinks promotions part of the entertainment.
Portadown lost out last weekend at Shamrock Park in NIFL Reserve League by 3-2 against Coleraine. Marcio Soares and Paul McElroy scored the home goals.
The thirds’ NIFL Youth League Section B campaign suffered a setback on Saturday against Newry City.
Adam Kennedy and Joel Copes were on target at Kernan.
The thirds’ Mid-Ulster Youth League Cup bid finished at the semi-final hurdle on Monday at Mourneview Park.
Glenavon came out on top by 5-0.
