PORTADOWN will travel to face Lisburn Distillery next week in a rescheduled Danske Bank Premiership fixture.

A pitch inspection organised by the Irish Football Association yesterday (Tuesday) ruled out the Ballyskeagh venue due to unplayable conditions.

The decision marked the second postponement of the fixture as a result of adverse weather conditions.

The Irish Football Association had initially proposed a fresh date of January 29 before the two clubs agreed to meet next Tuesday.

“Conditions remain extremely water-logged around the centre of the pitch,” said a spokesman for the IFA yesterday afternoon. “Conditions were very heavy and unplayable overall.”

Ronnie McFall and his Portadown players will next meet Cliftonville at Shamrock Park on Saturday in the league.
