Richhill on board with Armstrong Cup

Recently-formed Richhill AFC have signed up to compete in this summer's Armstrong Cup.

The club will enter a side following the amalgamation of Richhill and Broomhill from within the Mid-Ulster Football League - with Tandragee Rovers, Loughgall United, Rectory Rangers and Markthill Swifts also on board from the area.

The Armstrong Cup can boast a 14-strong entry list overall for the tournament organised by the Armagh Boys’ And Girls’ Club.

Play will kick off on Monday, July 18 and the final has been scheduled for Wednesday, August 10.

The first-round draw is: Caledon Rovers v Armagh Blues (July 18), Armagh Celtic v Tullyvallen Rangers (July 19), United LT v Armagh City reserves (July 20), Loughgall United v Keady Celtic (July 21), Dungannon Rovers v Tandragee Rovers (July 23), Richhill AFC v Orchard Athletic (July 25).

Armagh Boys’ And Girls’ Club officials have planned a grassroots programme to take place at the Millfield multi-use games area from July 5 to August 11 each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6.30-8.30. Support will be provided by Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council.
