Rovers ease past Hill Street

MARSHALL CUP (ROUND THREE)
TANDRAGEE ROVERS 7 HILL STREET 0

TANDRAGEE Rovers enjoyed a 6-0 advantage at the interval during Saturday’s comfortable passage into the fourth round of the Marshall Cup.

It provided Rovers with a first competitive fixture since December 27 but Ernie Greenaway’s players kicked off in style.

Paul Greenaway provided the finishing touch to neat approach play alongside Jamie Uprichard before AJ Gallagher’s close-range volley doubled the advantage.

A red card served to increase the Hill Street problems before Gerard Magee slotted home number three following slick passing between Cecil Corbett, Greenaway and Gallagher.

Philip Pedlow’s cross allowed Greenaway to double his personal tally and the latter narrowly missed out on a scoresheet appearance but his effort was pushed on to the crossbar.

Uprichard’s delicate finish and a Corbett header from another dangerous Pedlow cross placed Rovers clear by 6-0 at the break.

The only goal of the second half was scored by Corbett courtesy of his header to convert Scott Walker’s free-kick.

TANDRAGEE ROVERS: David Crawford, Dean Singleton, Philip Pedlow, Colin Bingham, Gary Whiteside, Scott Walker, Cecil Corbett, Gerard Magee, Jamie Uprichard, Paul Greenaway, AJ Gallagher. Subs: Chris Jeffers, Niall Fleming, Gary Magee, Aaron Greenaway.
