Smith scores two to boost Rangers push

MID-ULSTER LEAGUE DIVISION THREE
RECTORY RANGERS 5 GLENANNE UNITED 3

RECTORY Rangers held an early lead but then required a fightback to finish out in front.

RJ Trainor opened the scoring but Glenanne United hit back to hold leads of 2-1 and 3-2 before the break.

However, Rectory came out on top overall thanks to a Gareth Smith brace, plus goals from Philip Jenks and Andrew McCandless.

“We created lots of chances and played some nice football,” said Rangers’ Mark McMurdie. “We could have put a few more away but must be happy with the number of opportunities at present.”

RECTORY RANGERS: Glen McKenzie, Michael Richardson, Scott Richardson, Graham Bunting, Philip Jenks, Kyle McMullan, RJ Trainor, Colin Corkin, Gareth Smyth, Joel McConnell, Andrew McCandless. Subs: Simon Kelly, Gary Simmons, Wayne Hanna.
