SUPERCUPNI: Forde finds the net in county defeat

County Armagh enjoyed early progress in the Premier Section test with County Down but finished on the losing side by 2-1.

Lorcan Forde added to his impressive SuperCupNI tally with the opening goal during County Armagh’s bright start.

Possession was shared across the two sets of players and County Down left it level before the break.

A decisive second goal arrived for County Down in the closing stages of the second half.

Nedas Maciulaitis came close to finding the net for County Armagh - with two sights of goal falling without success for Eoin Toal.

“Both teams had plenty of the ball,” said County Armagh coach Paul Carvill. “In the end, it was an even game but County Down made more of any scoring opportunities.”
