Tandragee Rovers’ title push picked up momentum with a 3-1 defeat of struggling Crewe United.

Each side entered the fixture in search of victory, to boost positions at either end of the Mid-Ulster Intermediate League Section A standings.

A first-minute penalty kick allowed Lee Wells to break the deadlock.

Jamie Uprichard’s inventive long-range volley dropped past the post then Mark Bicker lacked accuracy from inside the area off a Black pass.

Black had a second-half effort pushed over the target and Dean Singleton cleared the crossbar.

Rovers suffered a setback entering the closing stages as Crewe grabbed an equaliser.

Tandragee regrouped and regained control when Singleton arrived to convert a Black cross.

Cecil Corbett wrapped up the points with a close-range header off Scott Walker’s free-kick.
