Broomhill grabbed a goal either side of the interval to claim the derby spoils from visitors St Mary’s.

The 2-0 success increased Broomhill’s run to three successive Mid-Ulster Intermediate League Section A wins.

David Taylor broke the deadlock off Andy McHugh’s teasing cross before a counter-attack in the closing stages resulted in Jason Harper converting Jason Dickson’s pass.

Clear sights of goal proved limited early on as Broomhill entered the break with a slender reward for the slight edge in possession.

“Brendan Hagan and Sean Brady had chances,” said St Mary’s Gerry Fay. “Luke Carvill came off the bench and came close.

“Marc Davidson was strong for us.”
