Whitten off the mark

MID-ULSTER INTERMEDIATE LEAGUE SECTION A
BANBRIDGE RANGERS 2 BROOMHILL 1

STEPHEN Whitten’s first goal for Broomhill failed to result in any team reward on Friday.

Tony Bell - the Broomhill boss - was left frustrated by the pre-match disruption to his side’s preparations.

“Our normal warm-up routine lasts between 25 and 30 minutes but was under 10 on Friday night due to a lack of space and time,” said Bell. “However, Rangers were better in the first half then we managed after the break.

“We struggled to settle, sitting 2-0 down when it could have been as bad as 4-0.

“Andy McHugh is coming back from injury but made a difference in the second half as a substitute.

“I felt they should have been reduced to 10 men at one point late on, plus Andy almost grabbed an equaliser.”

BROOMHILL: Philip Baird, Andy Forde, Conor Kenny, Ryan Metcalfe, Gareth Wilson, Stephen Whitten, Gareth Reece, Ryan Harper, Richard Nesbit, David Taylor, Jake Harper. Subs: Andy McHugh, Chris Chambers, Ryan Lynass.
