GAELIC GAMES BALLYHEGAN’S ‘Park ‘n’ Stride’ fund-raising event in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care will take place tomorrow (Saturday).
The project was recently launched by two club members with county ties - Paul McGrane and Clodagh McCann - to help raise the profile of such a worthy cause.
Everyone is welcome to sign up in support of the potential boost to both charity and the club, with routes over 10km and 5km on the cards around the Ballyhegan orchards and Loughgall Country Park.
“We at Ballyhegan Davitts recognise the invaluable work of the Marie Curie Cancer Care team,” said McGrane. “We are privileged to share the proceeds from this event with such a worthy cause.
“I would urge all our members and friends from around the county to sign up to take part in what will be a really enjoyable day.”

“We at Marie Curie Cancer Care are delighted that Ballyhegan GFC have undertaken to raise much-needed funds for our services to the terminally ill,” said Dorothy Scott, Marie Curie Cancer Care (Craigavon fund-raising group). “We are so heavily dependent on the generosity of voluntary support that initiatives like this are very warmly welcomed.
“I wish Ballyhegan every success with this event.”
