Campbell claims Loughgall honour

KEITH Campbell collected the main prize during recent play at Loughgall for the Past Captain’s Cup, thanks to a nett 68 off his 10 handicap.

Jonathan Hewitt was next home with nett 71 off his five handicap during the popular strokeplay event.

Stuart Eagle edged out Willie Turner for a spot in the top three after both recorded nett 74.

Adam Kerr collected the prize for best gross on nett 72 off five, with Adam Proctor the leading juvenile on nett 69 off 16.

The section winners were as follows: 0-12 - John Allen; 13-18 - Brendan Morgan; 19-28 - Alan Ball. Jamie Wortley secured the front nine prize and David McRoberts was the leading player over the back nine.

The following players recorded ‘twos’ - Graham Buckley, Keith Campbell, Brian McGuigan, Adam Proctor and Stephen Crowe.

JOHN Allen’s Sam Rutherford team met Tandragee on Sunday and finished five holes down.

Dave Chadwick and Stephen Wilson finished all-square, John Allen and Eugene Scullion lost by two holes, Andy Currie and Stephen Mullen lost by two holes and Jamie Wortley and Michael Connor lost by one hole.

The return at Tandragee will be on July 20.

LORRAINE Abbott and Janet Forbes have reached the semi-finals of the Irish Mail Foursomes thanks to victory over Ormeau.

THE Sunday Sweep has been cancelled due to lack of interest.
