Hoey makes society history with success in matchplay

LAURELVALE Golf Society’s festive ceremony was recently held in Tandragee - with prizes handed out over the matchplay, singles and pairs.

Sam Hoey became the first player in society history to win back-to-back Matchplay honours.

Gary Upton was named the Player of the Year during the 10th awards event.

David Armstrong and the society captain, Jeff Armstrong, teamed up to take home the Pairs prize.

Armstrong’s end-of-year speech included a warm welcome to the incoming captain for 2013, Gareth Thornbury.
