GOLF BILL Nixon proved the leading player during the Seven-Club Challenge at Carrickblacker.

He registered 30 points for a two-over-par score across 11 holes on Saturday – with Geoff Ludlow next home on 28 points.

Wilfre Reavie finished third with 27.5 points – followed by Gerald Holloway (26.5 points), Geoff Robinson (26 points) and Kevin Judge (26 points).

CONNIE Wilson collected the New Year’s Day Pro Shop Sweep prize ahead of Clarke Banks and John Gilliland.

A FOURBALL Betterball competition will take place tomorrow (Saturday), with Winter League starting times in place.

THE Clubworld Travel New Year tournament is scheduled to start on Sunday.

The format will cover eight weeks of qualifying play for singles matchplay. The matchplay stages will feature the handicap section’s leading four players.

Entries must be in by tomorrow (Saturday).

THE ladies’ Stableford across 10 holes at Portadown featured Angela Wray in top spot on 22.

Valerie Courtney finished as runner-up with 21 points.

UPDATED handicaps have been posted in the locker area.

THE ladies’ winter schedule of weekly competitions will cover Wednesdays to Tuesdays, ending on February 26.

THE annual ladies’ Winter Dinner will be held on Tuesday, January 22.

Members are reminded that the menu has now been posted and an invitation has been extended to non-competitors.
