The post-match talk centred on the importance of teamwork before the recently-installed club captain, Billy Gillis, offered his thanks on behalf of Portadown to the sponsors and expressed his wish for continued links between Clubworld Travel and Carrickblacker.
William Hewitt was the winner of the 18-hole Stableford for remaining members thanks to 79 gross and 47 points off his 20 handicap.

Simon Johnson, a 14 handicapper and recent addition to the Carrickblacker membership, finished second on 45 points thanks to 75 shots.
Seamus Brown came home third on 42 before Andrew Connolly edged out Karl Gale and Ian Lamb over the nine-hole countback for fourth.
Andrew Fitzsimmons posted the best gross score of the day on 71.

WITH diets in mind, it was a case of China prizes over chocolate during the Easter competition for members of the ladies’ section.
The Lady Captain’s event was won by Sandra Sandford on 34 points. Her prize was a China dog figurine with its own set of golf clubs!
Karen Shaw came home second on 33 points to collect the China bunny rabbit egg cups.
Betty Williamson picked up a China storage egg thanks to 30 points and third place.
Sandford and Shaw recently teamed up to win the Irish Mail On Sunday fourball competition.
The in-form Portadown players managed to beat Edenmore 2 up at the 18th hole to progress into the third round.
