Scarva’s Olivia Mehaffey will switch her focus from individual aspirations to team goals over the next three days of Curtis Cup play.
The competition is considered amateur ladies’ equivalent to the Ryder Cup, with Mehaffey in line for her debut against United States on behalf of Great Britain and Ireland.
The tournament on County Wicklow’s Dun Laoghaire course starts on Friday and will run until Sunday as the latest test of the teenager’s talent.
“I love playing team golf,” said the Tandragee member. “This team we have gets on so, so well and that doesn’t always happen.
“The atmosphere is great and I’ve prepared really well so I just can’t wait to get going.
“I am really excited more than feeling nervous and we’re being treated so well.
“My game feels in good shape.
“I love playing in front of people and it just helps to have good crowds, especially my family, friends and coaches who will be down supporting.”
