Garry Jennings will return to Lurgan Park next month in search of hat-trick glory during the annual rally showpiece.

The Orchard Motorsport Company-sponsored meeting - supported by Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council - is set to attract a strong field, with Jennings out to extend his recent record.

Back-to-back wins place Jennings in the driving seat for top spot on Saturday, July 4. His competition will include 11-time Lurgan Park champion Kenny McKinstry from Banbridge.

The Lurgan Park Rally is one of the most popular attractions on the North Armagh Motor Club calendar, with Bertie Fisher enjoying pride of place as inaugural winner in 1980.

McKinstry first stepped on to the winner’s podium in 1983 and will return to the venue in pursuit of win number 12.

“The rally is also very much a social occasion,” said a rally spokesman. “It is for families and children.

“The format of short, sharp special stages will make for some exciting action.”
