Portadown Panthers under 15s with Ulster Rugby’s Fair Play Trophy following the latest learning disability tag rugby competition.

The Wooden Spoon festival was staged by Belfast Harlequins, with Portadown unbeaten across games against Stevenson Sharks, Ballymena Bears, Newforge Taggers and Killard Cougars.

The Panthers will now represent Ulster in England at the International Wooden Spoon Tag Rugby Festival.

June’s tournament will also feature Portadown Panthers’ over 15s as part of the town club’s 51-strong party.

Players representing the under 15s were Reece Massey, Joel Gordon, Kevin Phun, Matthew Robinson, Murray Gilmour and Chris Sherwin.

The over 15s’ panel will include Andrew Dempsey, Andre Dourado, Craig Malcolmson, Daniel Crowe, Ga Wai Phun, Stefan McGrath, Philip Patton, Robert Crory, Mark Ellison.

Ireland international Rory Best was recently a special guest at Chambers Park for a coaching appearance in his role as Portadown Panthers Ambassador.
