Portadown Pumas posted a winning start to the Northern Ireland Rugby League with success against Belfast Met College by 50-48.

Pumas bounced back from conceding two early tries to hold the lead at half-time.

Keith Adams suffered a facial injury that required sustained treatment but returned to play and registered a league hat-trick of tries.

Other highlights included the performances by Adam Docherty, Jonny McCreery, Robert Gacek and Pete Liggett.
