David Ross came up with a novel way of combining his responsibilities to five-month-old daughter Ella and desire for a few quick holes at Carrickblacker.
The recent addition to the Portadown membership converted his daughter’s pram into a temporary golf trolley and headed off to the first tee.
“I was previously a member of Downpatrick but moved to Gilford due to family commitments so wanted a club in the area,” he said. “I work shifts in Lisburn so have different periods free to call out and squeeze in some golf.
“That day it was late on with no-one really out so it all worked out well with Ella.
“I used a golf website to find tee-off times in the area and first came across Banbridge.
“Then that was booked up so I found Portadown and was delighted to join.
“It is all working out well so far and everyone has been so hospitable since I joined in July.”
“I am grabbing the chance to get out as often as possible each week.”
