A 50-strong field of National Bangers is expected at Tullyroan Oval on Sunday for the Irish Teams’ Championship.

Drivers in the record entry list will travel from England, Scotland and the Republic of Ireland to compete for honours alongside domestic competitors.

Dave Haugh from the Birches will lead ‘The Bomb Squad’ and Portadown’s Willy Ogilby has signed up with ‘Team Buckle’.

In the support programme, World champion Winston Weir, Irish title-holder Scott Cochrane and Nigel Jackson will be on show across the Lightning Rods.

The bill also includes the Superstox and Ninja Karts.

The racing will run from 2 o’clock.

RALLY

Loughgall’s Peter Bennett finished second in round two of the McGrady Insurance ANICC Junior 1000 Rally Challenge Ireland meeting at Kirkistown. The 14-year-old now holds second in the overall standings.
