Tandragee Golf Club’s Eoin McCourt is working hard in preparation for next month’s Junior Irish Open at Killymoon.

The promising eight-year-old can take confidence from a recent victory at Bangor in the Ulster Championship section of the Junior Masters Tour.

McCourt will take part in the Killymoon meeting across August 24-26.

He has been a member of Tandragee for four years, enjoying impressive progress thanks to coaching by Dympna Keenan.

One key success arrived last year in Junior Captain’s Day.

“Eoin’s favourite player is Rory McIlroy,” said McCourt’s father, Joe. “So one of his highlights was to play at the custom-made golf course at Robinhall House.

“Robinhall House is, of course, Rory’s former home.

“Dympna is great with Eoin and all of the juniors at Tandragee.”
