Portadown under 14s enjoyed positive progress during a round-robin meeting in Ballymena.

Ethan Williamson enjoyed a try double, with Alex Bleakney’s conversion helping seal a 12-7 victory over the hosts.

A 19-0 success arrived against Larne following tries from Joe Partridge, captain Peter Davison and Callum Walker.

Portadown under 16s finished with a defeat to Ballymena but success over Larne.

Ballymena opened the scoring and managed to maintain the upper hand.

The test with Larne featured an early try for Conor Watt before Gareth Gardiner made it 10-0.

Brandon Gribben and Watt posted conversions, with Jake Hanlon and David Glasgow each crossing the line.

A strong finish led to Oran Creaney registering his first try of the season, with Lee Wilson wrapping up the 36-10 win.

Training for the under 16s will run each Monday and Thursday at Chambers Park from 7-8.30.
