ANYONE within earshot of the Tandragee 100 paddock this weekend may pick up a mix of accents ranging from Australia to Ahorey.

The North Armagh Motorcycle and Car Club-promoted meeting can boast an entry list with riders from around the globe signed up to contest the road race showpiece.

A position within the season’s calendar in advance of the North West 200 has always helped the Tandragee course attract leading names – alongside the enduring popularity of the country route’s numerous racing challenges.

Sponsorship backing from a loyal team of investors, led by Around-A-Pound, has secured a substantial prize purse and meeting officials remain confident that course changes will add to the experience for those on and off the roads.

“Riders always enjoy using the Tandragee 100 as a North West 200 warm-up,” said Tandragee 100 clerk of the course, RJ Woolsey. “We have full grids for every race and a packed programme on offer.

“We have also made changes to the course which we feel not only enhance safety measures but also increase spectator enjoyment as part of our on-going development plans.

“The area around the start/finish line will be prohibited, we have placed air bales at Marlacoo Corner and introduced a grandstand at Cooley Hill.

“We can provide fans with some spectacular views and would like to remind fans that anyone in prohibited areas will force us to red flag a race.

“It is great to see an entry list across the board packed with top names and especially those from Australia and Europe.

“Having people like Michael Pearson, Michael Dunlop, William Dunlop and Ryan Farquhar on board should lead to top-class racing.

“Everyone has been working hard this week to prepare the area and now it is the big countdown to Friday’s practice and, of course, Saturday’s racing.”
