Fun on the water

Watersports fans in the area look set for a double treat this weekend with special sessions planned by canoe and rowing clubs.

The introductory meetings have been arranged at discount rates by officials with the C3 Paddlers and Portadown Boat Club.

Events will run tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday within a national campaign entitled ‘Flow - Get Into Watersports’.

This project has been designed to encourage participation and raise awareness of water-based opportunities in the region.

The United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, Finland, Portugal, Spain and Bulgaria all stand on board with the Watersports Enhanced Together (WET) programme.

The ‘Flow’ campaign is co-funded by The Erasmus Plus rogramme of the European Union and is in a partnership between SportNI and range of national governing bodies.
