NETBALL PUPILS from St John the Baptist Primary School finished as runners-up from a field of six teams during a recent netball tournament.

The Portadown students lost out in an entertaining final to Lurgan’s St Francis Primary School, with the competition organised by Craigavon Borough Council in partnership with Sport Northern Ireland’s Lottery-Funded Active Communities programme.

The showcase provided girls from across the Craigavon borough an opportunity to display teamwork, meet fellow pupils and develop tactics.

Also represented were Ballyoran, St Patrick’s Aghagallon, Lurgan Model and St Teresa’s.

“The tournament was a great chance for the competitors to get active, have fun and learn some new skills,” said Rosin O’Hagan, Active Communities coach. “Well done to everyone who took part.”
