Portadown Taverners meet Waringstown Ladies at Chambers Park tonight (Friday) in the latest meeting between the teams for charity.

Proceeds this year will go towards the Goal Line Youth Centre at Chambers Park, with play from 6.30 and everyone welcome to attend.

“The game between our Taverners and the Waringstown Ladies is the highlight of the social cricket season for many and always a great match,” said a Portadown spokesman. “The annual series stands now at two wins apiece and one draw.

“All support is welcome down at Chambers Park for the popular occasion.

“Work is ongoing towards restoring the playing surface at Chambers Park and the pitches prepared so far play really well.

“In terms of our Border League games, the weather has disrupted a number of fixtures, leading to various rescheduled dates.

“Dundalk will arrive in town now on Friday, July 24.
