Concert at Maconachie Hall

Killowen parishioners in Coleraine are inviting the public to celebrate the newly refurbished Maconachie Hall with a special event on Friday, March 4. The Killowen Street venue wil play host to a Musical Evening featuring Riada Music Group and accomplished flautist Kathryn Robinson. David Ewing will compere the evening and doors open at 7pm.

In the early nineteen 1960s the church hall was built to meet the needs of the growing Parish of Killowen. Under the leadership of the then Rector, Alwyn Maconachie, men of the Parish volunteered to build an enlarged Hall, with the foundation stone being laid in 1961. Supported and encouraged by the wider community, the Hall was ready for business in 1963.

Following the most recent renovations during 2015, which have greatly enhanced the hall, we all are keen to share this night with as many of our Killowen friends and Coleraine community as possible.

The concert (which is totally free and supper provided) is augmented by an exhibition of the early days in Killowen (from 1244 – 2016).
