Dust off your Santa hat for Santa Splash!

It’s almost time to look out the swimming costume and dust off the Santa hat for the annual Santa Splash at the Arcadia Beach in Portrush.

Now in its sixth year this community event continues to grow with more and more ‘splashers’ from all parts of Northern Ireland braving the Atlantic Ocean to raise money for charity. Last year more than 140 people braved the conditions and raised £2,300 for our chosen charity Cardiac Risk in the Young, CRY (NI).

A spokesperson for the organisers said: “This year we have chosen Marie Curie Cancer Care as our charity. This is another wonderful charity who offer many different types of support and care for people with terminal illnesses and their families.

“55 North are once again supporting this event by providing hot drinks and food for everyone who donates or takes the plunge.

“We are also delighted that Shamie Heaney will provide top quality swing and festive music at 55 North after the splash for everyone to enjoy,” say the organisers.

Everyone is welcome to jump in or come down and spectate. Please meet at the Arcadia from 1pm onwards with the splash getting underway on Sunday, December 21 at 1.30pm. Donations to Marie Curie Cancer Care on the day.
